Chaplaincy and RI

Destiny Church is a strong supporter of school chaplaincy in our local area. We assist through involvement in local chaplaincy committees, fundraising events and praying for chaplains and the precious kids they support.

A number of local chaplains are members of the Destiny Church family:

  • Michelle Hickin - Narangba State School & Morayfield East State School (SU Chaplain)
  • Dorothea Van Lonkhuyzen - Morayfield State High School
  • Bec Barclay - Alta 1 College
  • Janet Stebbins - ACC Moreton
  • Robyn Coleman - Alta 1 College and Religious Instruction (RI) Coordinator for State Schools

Scripture Union Queensland (SU QLD)

Scripture Union is a Christian organisation seeking to bring God’s love, hope and good news to children, young people and their families. We work with local schools, local churches of all denominations, and community groups, towards a common vision: To see each child and young person connected and supported in community, serving others, and experiencing fullness of life.

Chaplaincy Support

Our church actively helps to support certain Chaplaincy programs within schools, such as Breakfast clubs that provide children with basic breakfast food before school starts. We also help out smaller youth programs within other schools which are run by their Chaplains.

SplashOut, Day Camp and Maplteon (SU Chaplaincy camps)

These camps cater for all school -age children, with Splashout being youth focused and Day Camp and Mapleton providing fun for the younger ones. All give kids the opportunity to connect with their local church, hear about Jesus, and begin a pathway to salvation. And of course – they’re a ton of fun!

SU Chaplaincy Fun Run

An annual favourite, this fundraiser brings the whole community together to walk and run together in support of Chaplaincy with our schools, with all funds raised being used to support these SU QLD programs.
